Classic Louis XVI style medallion armchairs. The frame is carved of beech wood and features intricate scrolls and straight tapered legs with carved fluting--a look that is so essential to the style. The set is upholstered in natural canvas. The wooden frame is painted a cream color and is deeply patinated, making the color rich and dark in places. In contrast to the paint, a lovely reddish wood shines through, peeking out at the edges and crevices. The seat backs of the arm chairs are encompassed by carved acanthus leaves.
