Stunning, stately armchair from the Empress Eugenie's Grande Salon at the Fontainebleau Royal Castle, sculpted by Georges Jacob. Gorgeous weathered gilt finish with dark patina and some natural wood showing through. Intricate carvings throughout the chair frame and decoratively carved Louis XVI tapered legs. Original heavily weathered silk upholstery in a dark cream color with red, blue and green floral patterns. Exposed horsehair cushion covered with off-white muslin fabric on seat.
